Workshop on the FORKALIM Business Plan Development

USAID IUWASH PLUS and FORKALIM (National Waste Water Association) held a workshop to develop FORKALIM business plan in Jakarta on June 7, 2018. The workshop aimed to seek inputs for the business plan development. The representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, The World Bank, SNV and the FORKALIM members (PDAM Balikpapan, PDAM Tirtanadi, PD. PAL Jakarta, and PD. PAL Banjarmasin) participated in this workshop.

During the workshop, the participants actively discussed the organization’s vision, goal, and plans. The participants also showed their commitment for the growth of FORKALIM. They hoped that FORKALIM will have sustainable funding and internal resources, and it becomes a professional and innovative organization to support sustainable domestic wastewater access and to benefit the members. FORKALIM is also expected to become the source of references and mediate the capacity-building process.

The FORKALIM Chairperson, Dr. Subekti affirmed the participants’ expectations in his remarks. “In the next five years, FORKALIM as an association for domestic waste water operators should be independent, sustainable, and becoming more professional to support the government to achieve the Universal Access targets as part of the Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
As a follow-up, USAID IUWASH PLUS and FORKALIM will conduct a meeting to draft the business plan and financial analysis projection in the following months.
