USAID IUWASH PLUS Held an Online Talk Show, “What Does Water Mean to You?”

USAID IUWASH PLUS conducted an online talk show entitled “What Does Water Mean to You?” on March 19, 2021, to celebrate the 2021 World Water Day. This theme is in line with the focus of the global 2021 World Water Day, what water means to people, its true value and how to better protect this vital resource.

The Director of Housing and Settlements of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Mrs. Tri Dewi Virgiyanti, and the Director of Environment Office of USAID Indonesia, Mr. Matthew Burton, opened the talk show, which was attended by journalists, public influencers, members of the public health offices, and communities.

The guest speakers of this show included the Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals Ambassador and the President’s Special Staff, Mr. Billy Mambrasar; the Intermediate Functional Planner of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Mrs. Aisyah Nasution; and the Sanitarian from Puskesmas Tebet Timur, Mrs. Umami.

For two hours, the guest speakers reaffirmed the importance of protecting water to sustain people’s lives as well as discussed current water issues, including improved safely managed water, and programs to improve communities’ water access.
The talk show was also broadcasted on USAID IUWASH PLUS’ YouTube channel.
