The Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation Teams in Barru District Prepare the Monitoring and Evaluation Cycle Two

The participatory monitoring and evaluation teams in Barru district prepared the monitoring and evaluation cycle two during a meeting held by Bappeda in Barru district and USAID IUWASH PLUS from June 18 to 19, 2019 in Barru district.

This meeting was attended by the participatory monitoring and evaluation teams from five USAID IUWASH PLUS supported urban villages, namely Mangkoso, Kiru-Kiru, Lalolang, Mangempang, and Sumpang, local governments, urban village governments, and puskesmas.

Through this meeting, they discussed the strategies for implementing the monitoring and evaluation cycle two based on the lessons learned from the cycle one.

The participatory monitoring and evaluation teams also practiced using the tools to be utilized in the monitoring and evaluation cycle two.

In the monitoring and evaluation cycle two, the partners—such as Bappeda, the housing and settlement office, social office, PDAM, and puskesmas—in Barru district will be more actively engage with the participatory monitoring and evaluation teams to conduct this activity.

“The data that the participatory monitoring and evaluation teams have collected are reliable because these data are updated and valid. Therefore, Bappeda plans to replicate the participatory monitoring and evaluation to 55 urban villages/villages in Barru District,” said Syamsurbaird Syarifuddin, the Head of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Barru District Bappeda.

To support the monitoring and evaluation in 55 urban villages/villages, Bappeda in Barru district has prepared at least Rp140 million to include in the 2019 APBD revision.
