On December 7, 2020 USAID IUWASH PLUS support PT PJB (Pembangkit Jawa Bali) UP Gresik, BAPPEDA and Pulopancikan village to hold a discussion to finalize the agreement between PT PJB UP Gresik and Pulopancikan village on the construction of 50 healthy latrines.
PT PJB UP Gresik has allocated 200 million from its partnerships and community development program to support the construction. The fund will be managed by Pulopancikan village government.
To realize this plan, the head of village and community members have appointed Community-Based Organization (KSM) Pulopancikan Sehat to build the individual healthy latrines.
For the first batch of the agreement, Pulopancikan village will build 25 individual healthy latrines in December 2020 and the next batch of 25 latrines in early 2021. All of these latrines will be built for the low income families who live near watersheds and do not have the healthy latrines.
In the end of the discussion, the Head of Pulopancikan village signed, Mr. Achmad Afandi, and the representative of PT PJB UP Gresik, Mr. Mochamad Soleh, affixed the initials on the Mutual Agreement, witnessed by Bappeda and USAID IUWASH PLUS.
Mr. Achmad Afandi, hopes that there will be more supports from private sector to build healthy latrines in Pulopancikan village. Currently, around 92 households in four RTs do not have the facility.
