Online Focus Group Discussion on WASH Microfinance

National policies on WASH microfinance for BPR (rural banks) are important to enable community access microcredit mechanisms to help acquire better water and sanitation facilities.

In light of this need, USAID IUWASH PLUS, in collaboration with Water.org, organized an online focus group discussion on WASH microfinance with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bappenas, Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH), Ministry of Health (MOH), and the CPMU of NUWSP on August 6, 2020.

During the discussion, USAID IUWASH PLUS and Water.org obtained insights and inputs on the existing microfinance policies and WASH development. The information will help the project and Water.org prepare a policy paper on WASH microfinance.

OJK will then use the paper as a reference to develop policies/regulations for BPR on their WASH microfinance products.
