USAID IUWASH Tangguh E-Newsletter 4th Edition, December 2023
A Word from USAID IUWASH Tangguh
The year 2023 has been a remarkable and pivotal year for the USAID IUWASH Tangguh project. We have achieved many milestones in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and water resource management (WRM) sectors through our partnership with the Government of Indonesia and other stakeholders.
We at USAID IUWASH Tangguh are set to enter 2024 with a promising trajectory into the future. We highly appreciate the immense support from our partners to bring safely managed drinking water and sanitation access, good hygiene practices closer to all citizens, and sustainably managed water resources.
In this newsletter, we want to share how we supported implementation of the urban drinking water grant to bring piped water access for the poor in Pematang Siantar, North Sumatra. From the District of Wonogiri, Central Java, you can read how an aspiring female village head leverage the village budget to provide the poor and vulnerable groups with improved sanitation access. On WRM, we offer a story of how we are sharing our expertise with Indonesian experts improve their knowledge on climate phenomena and their impacts on water security.
