Happy 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia!
In the last 76 years, Indonesia has made tremendous gains in many fields and it becomes one of countries with the largest economy in Asia. Despite of making such immense achievements, a lot of citizens in many Indonesia’s regions particularly in urban settings are still facing hardship and have to make extra efforts than what is necessary to meet their basic needs, including access to safe water and sanitation, and hygiene practice. Such situation is getting worse during the COVID-19 pandemic, where access to water is more important than usual.
Just like a family, everyone in the nation has responsibilities to help the poor and vulnerable citizens to fulfil their basic rights, access to safe water and sanitation. Thus, in the USAID IUWASH PLUS’ E-Newsletter 17th edition, August 2021, we present you good examples on how multi-stakeholders collaborations could provide and sustain water and sanitation improvements, especially for the urban poor.
