The Salatiga City PDAM and USAID IUWASH PLUS held a dissemination on PDAM microcredit in Kutowinangun Kidul urban village, Salatiga city on December 6, 2017. The dissemination was attended by 30 participants that included the PDAM Head and Customer Relations staff of Salatiga city PDAM, the representatives for RT, RW, and the residents of RW 06.
This dissemination is a follow up on the participatory assessment and community meeting (rembug warga) activities held in Kutowinangun Kidul urban village that discussed several WASH-related issues, one of which was the need to obtain information of PDAM microcredit for financing house connection.
During this dissemination, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the terms and conditions for using microcredit to obtain the water supply house connection provided by PDAM. ”This microcredit aims at facilitating the low-income community in accessing water supply service provided by PDAM,” stated Suryadi Aji, the PDAM Head of Customer Relationship. He also said that the PDAM installation package costs Rp1,925,000 (includeing 6 meter pipe and water meter), the down payment is 25% and the remaining can be paid through installment with 5 or 6 payments.
From this microcredit dissemination, 12 to 15 participants are interested to apply for this microcredit scheme. As a follow up, those potential consumers will submit required documents to be verified by PDAM. After the verification, the PDAM will conduct survey to calculate budget plan and continue with the installation of pipe and PDAM water meter.
